For the purpose of assessing and collecting taxes for state, county, and school purposes, the City shall be considered the same as a township. All provisions of State law relative to collecting and accounting for taxes and tax collection fees to be paid and the returning of property to the County treasurer for non-payment shall apply to the Clerk-Treasurer. If school taxes are collected at the same time as City taxes, they shall be collected subject to the same conditions as City taxes.
