An elected official may be recalled from office by the electors of the City under the same provisions of State law as pertain to state and county officers. A vacancy created by the recall of any elected official shall be filled by Council on a temporary basis in accordance with the provisions of Section 5.4 of this Charter. Persons appointed to fill vacancies as a result of recalls shall serve in office until the vacancy is filled by an election scheduled in accordance with the provisions of State law.
