1458.09 POLITICAL SIGNS.
   Political signs are permitted in addition to otherwise permitted signs and sign area in accordance with the following provisions and other applicable provisions of this chapter:
   (a)   Location. Political signs shall not be placed on any public property, public right of way, utility pole or bridge abutment. The location of political signs on private property is further prescribed in this chapter by the provisions relating to each zoning district. (Ord. 1993-135. Passed 11-1-93.)
   (b)   Number and Area. The maximum size of any political sign legally placed shall be no more than nine square feet.

   (c)   Substitution for Commercial Messages. In addition to specifically authorized political signs, political messages may be displayed in place of commercial messages on any permitted billboard or other permitted permanent sign.

   (d)   Installation and Removal. Political signs can be put up no sooner than thirty (30) days prior to the date of an election. All signs must be removed within three (3) days after the election. (Ord. 2010-075. Passed 7-6-10.)
