Applicants for a peddler's permit must file with the Mayor a sworn application in writing, in duplicate, on a form to be furnished by the Mayor, which shall give the following information:
(a) The name and a description of the applicant;
(b) The legal and local address of the applicant;
(c) A brief description of the nature of the business and the goods to be sold and, in the case of products of a farm or orchard, whether they are produced or grown by the applicant;
(d) If the applicant is employed, the name and address of the employer, together with credentials establishing the exact relationship;
(e) The length of time for which the right to do business is desired;
(f) If a vehicle is to be used, a description of the vehicle, together with the license number or other means of identification;
(g) A photograph of the applicant, taken within sixty days immediately prior to the date of the filing of the application, which picture shall be two inches by two inches, showing the head and shoulders of the applicant in a clear and distinguishing manner;
(h) The names of at least two reliable property owners of the County, who will certify as to the applicant's good character and business responsibility, or, in lieu of the names of references, any other available evidence as to the good character and business responsibility of the applicant as will enable an investigator to properly evaluate such character and business responsibility;
(i) A statement as to whether or not the applicant has been convicted of or has pleaded guilty to any felony or misdemeanor, other than a traffic offense, the nature of the offense and the penalty assessed therefor.
Prior to filing the application with the Mayor’s office, the applicant will be required to provide the Police Department with a valid State Drivers’ License or a State Identification card and submit to a civilian background investigation which includes both Ohio Bureau of Investigation (BCI) and Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) checks using the Ravenna Police Department’s web check system. A fee of sixty dollars ($60.00) shall be paid to the Police Department to cover the cost of the background investigation.

At the time of the filing of the application, a fee of ten dollars ($10.00) shall be paid to the Mayor to cover the cost of investigation of the facts stated herein.
