It is the duty of any police officer to require any person seen soliciting or canvassing, who is not known by such officer to be duly authorized under this chapter, to produce his or her solicitor's or canvasser's permit, and it is the further duty of such police officer to enforce the provisions of this chapter against any person found to be violating them.
