The Fire Chief shall have sole command at all fires over all members of the Fire Department and all persons in attendance, and he or she shall have police powers as an ex officio police officer. He or she shall examine the condition of all apparatus, buildings and fixtures of the Fire Department and see that the same are kept and maintained in good condition and that all rules and regulations of the Department are enforced and observed by the members of the Department and all other persons.
