(a) The Director of Public Safety or, in his or her absence, the Chief of Police, is hereby designated, in accordance with Ohio R.C. 737.041, to authorize the rendering of police services to other subdivisions without a contract, subject to review by the Mayor.
(b) Ohio R.C. Chapter 2744 (Political Subdivision Tort Liability), insofar as it applies to the operation of police departments, shall apply to the City of Ravenna and the sworn officers of its Police Department, when such members are rendering police services pursuant to Ohio R.C. 737.041.
(c) Sworn officers of the City of Ravenna, while acting outside the City limits of Ravenna, shall be entitled to participate in any pension fund established by the City to the same extent as while acting within the City of Ravenna. Such officers shall be entitled to all the rights provided in Ohio R.C. 4123.01 through 4123.96 to the same extent as while performing services within the City of Ravenna.
