242.01 MUTUAL AID AGREEMENTS.
   The Mayor is hereby authorized to execute, on behalf of the City, such agreements between the City and other municipalities as the Mayor believes to be necessary for the purpose of providing mutual exchange of police facilities. Such agreements shall remain in force for a period of three years. However, any of the agreements may be terminated upon sixty days notice.
   Each agreement shall provide that no charge shall be made for the police protection services rendered by each party to such agreement and that each party shall assume the expense of the loss of or damage to its own equipment or apparatus that may be incurred while in the jurisdiction of the other parties to such agreement.
   Each agreement shall further provide that no liability shall arise to any party to such agreement for injury to or death of any of its own police officers while performing services in the jurisdiction of another municipality as a result of such agreement.
