(A) The keeping of large livestock animals, such as, but not limited to, llamas, horses, mules, miniature horses/donkeys, donkeys, swine, bovines, goats, sheep, buffalo and beefalo is not permitted in the city limits, except as allowed in an R-1 zoned area or as allowed by future zoning imposed by the city.
(B) The keeping of small livestock animals, such as, but not limited to, chickens, pigeons, geese, ducks, poultry and rabbits shall not be restricted except for the following requirements:
(a) Any person keeping or maintaining the fowl described above within any portion of the city shall keep the fowl confined or restrained by adequate fowl fencing, building, or buildings or otherwise, so that none of the fowl will be at liberty to trespass on property owned by others;
(b) The keeping of small livestock shall not be permitted in the required front, side and street side yard setbacks. No such animal shall be kept closer than 35 feet to an adjacent dwelling or the primary structure of an adjacent business, excluding that of the property on which the small livestock reside;
(c) The total maximum number of small livestock animals allowed on any property within the city is 5 animals No rooster shall be allowed in the city limits;
(d) No permit of any kind is needed to keep small livestock animals in the city.
(C) Any owner of any small livestock, which are being kept, harbored, or maintained within the city pursuant to the provisions of this chapter, shall continuously keep the corral, barn, coop, hutch, or any shed or other structure where the animals are kept continuously clean and sanitary so that no offensive, objectionable, or injurious odors are permitted to annoy, inconvenience, or jeopardize any resident within the area of the place where the animal or animals are authorized to be kept and so that at no time will the corrals, barns, sheds, coops, or hutches become a nuisance or a menace to public health in the opinion of the Animal Control Officer.
