(A) Adopted; availability of copy for inspection.
(1) The city does hereby adopt, for the purpose of regulating the erection, construction, enlargement, alteration, repair, moving, removal, demolition, conversion, occupancy, equipment, use, height, area, and maintenance of buildings or structures in the city, and for the purpose of providing for the issuance of permits and the collection of fees, that certain building code known as the New Mexico Uniform Building Code, accepted by the State General Construction Board and approved by the State Construction Industries Commission, together with all amendments and additions thereto, hereinafter in this section called the Uniform Building Code, and the same is hereby adopted by reference and incorporated as fully as if set out herein. The building code adopted by this section is based upon the current edition of the Uniform Building Code of the International Conference of Building Officials.
(2) A copy of the Uniform Building Code shall at all reasonable times be available and subject to inspection in the office of the City Clerk/Treasurer. This section is enacted pursuant to the provisions of NMSA § 3-17-6A(3).

(B) Term “building official” to mean Building Inspector; enforcement; issuance of building permits. Any reference in the Uniform Building Code, adopted by division (A) above, to the “building official” shall be read as “Building Inspector” of the city, who shall be empowered to enforce the same in accordance with the Uniform Building Code, and to issue building permits upon payment of the fees prescribed by the State General Construction Board. The building valuation data of the most recent issue of Building Standards, published by the International Conference of Building Officials, shall be the schedule used for the determination of calculation used in the computation of building permit fees.

(C) Compliance required. All construction of any sort or type within the limits of the city shall fully conform in every respect to the Uniform Building Code adopted by division (A) above.
