(A) Escape from jail.
(1) Escape from jail consists of any person who shall have been lawfully committed to any jail escaping or attempting to escape from the jail or from a work detail to which the person is assigned.
(2) Whoever commits escape from jail is guilty of violating this section.

(B) Escape from custody of a peace officer.
(1) Escape from custody of a peace officer consists of any person, who shall have been placed under lawful arrest for the commission of any misdemeanor, petty misdemeanor, or violation of any provision of this code or other ordinance of the city, escaping or attempting to escape unlawfully from the custody or control of any peace officer.
(2) Whoever commits escape from custody of a peace officer is guilty of violating this section.

(C) Assisting escape.
(1) Assisting escape consists of either:
(a) Intentionally aiding any person confined or held in lawful custody or confinement to escape; or
(b) Any officer, jailer, or other employee intentionally permitting any prisoner in his or her custody to escape.
(2) Whoever commits assisting escape is guilty of violating this section.
