For the purpose of this chapter, the following definitions shall apply unless the context clearly indicates or requires a different meaning.
JUNK DEALER. Every person who shall in this city deal in old iron, lead, brass, steel, copper, or other metals, or old machinery, or parts of old machinery, cars, or junked automobiles, rags, bagging, rope, rubber, bones, bottles, or any kind of junk.
PAWNBROKER. Any person whose business is to trade or receive by the way of pledge or pawn in this city any kind of personal property as security for the repayment of money loaned or advanced.
SECONDHAND DEALER. Every person who conducts a secondhand store or deals in secondhand goods in this city, other than used car dealers and merchants taking furniture, appliances, and like merchandise in on a trade-in for new furniture, appliances, and like items, whether or not the person, in addition to or in connection with the secondhand business, keeps in stock for retail, goods, wares, or merchandise, and pays or is assessed a license or an occupation tax as a retail merchant or dealer, by reason of his or her dealing in the new goods, wares, or merchandise.
