§ 55.99 PENALTY.
   Every person convicted of a violation of this chapter shall be punished by a fine of not more than $300 or by imprisonment for not more than 90 days, or both, and each day this chapter is violated shall constitute a separate offense. The conviction and punishment of any person for a violation shall not excuse or exempt the person from the payment of any fee due or unpaid at the time of the conviction and nothing herein shall prevent a criminal prosecution of any violation of the provisions of this chapter.
