A. After the city has taken final action to approve the granting of this franchise, Adelphia will file its acceptance with the city by countersigning this franchise. Such acceptance will acknowledge that Adelphia agrees to be bound by and to comply with the provisions contained herein.
B. The franchise granted herein will take effect and be in full force from and after August 1, 2001, subject to the acceptance provided in subsection A of this section and shall continue in full force and effect for a period of ten (10) years (hereinafter the "term"). Following the term, if Adelphia is in compliance with the material provisions of this franchise, the term shall be extended an additional five (5) years. Such extension shall be automatic, without further action on the part of either party, unless the city notifies Adelphia in writing thirty (30) days prior to the expiration of the term that it is not in compliance with the material provisions of this franchise.
