8-1-6: DEPOSIT:
   A.   Deposit Required: All applicants for water service shall deposit with the office of the clerk of the city an amount to be set by resolution and approved by the city council. Such deposit shall be made at the time of making application for water service and shall be an amount separate from and in addition to all other fees and charges required by this chapter.
   B.   Refund: The cash deposit is given by the applicant for water service as a guarantee of payment of water service fees, permit and inspection fees and/or disconnection fees. After one (1) year, the deposit shall be applied against the account. In the event the applicant discontinues utility service in less than one (1) year, the deposit shall be applied against the final bill, with any remainder being mailed to the applicant at the last known address. It shall be the responsibility of the applicant to update their mailing address with the City if they move. In any case, no interest shall be paid on the deposit. (Ord. 607, passed 7-27-2022)
