2-2-2: MEMBERSHIP:
   A.   Appointment; Removal: The Parks and Recreation Commission shall consist of five (5) members, who shall be appointed by the Mayor with confirmation by the City Council. Members may, in like manner, be removed. One (1) member thereof may be a member of the School Board, or an administrative staff person, of School District 272 and is not required to reside within the City limits but must reside within the boundaries of the school district. All other positions on the board must reside within the City limits, except that one (1) may reside within the area of City impact. One (1) position may be filled by a Lakeland High School student. Appointments made to the Parks and Recreation Commission prior to the effective date hereof shall remain in full force and effect until the expiration of the Commissioner's term.
   B.   Term: All appointments shall be for a four (4) year term and until the member's successor is appointed and qualified. Commissioners shall be limited to two (2) full consecutive four (4) year terms without specific concurrence by two-thirds (2/3) of the City Council.
   C.   Vacancies: Vacancies in the commission shall be appointed in a like manner, except that vacancies occurring otherwise than by expiration of a term shall be appointed by the Mayor for the unexpired term. (Ord. 560, 9-13-2017)
