A. Prohibited; Disclosure: No member of the commission shall participate in any proceeding or action when the member or his employee or employer, business partner, business associate or any person related to him by affinity or consanguinity within the second degree has an economic interest in the proceeding or action. Any actual or potential interest in any proceeding shall be disclosed in writing at or before any meeting at which the action is being heard or considered. This written statement must be delivered to the chairperson, vice chairperson or chairperson pro tempore prior to the commencement of any said proceeding or action.
B. Investigation; Penalty: The planning and zoning commission shall investigate all violations of this section and notify the mayor and city council in writing of such violations, recommending the action necessary to correct same. A knowing violation of this section shall constitute a misdemeanor. (Ord. 374, 3-12-1996)
