It shall be unlawful for any person to operate or be in control of any motor vehicle, except for park maintenance and emergency vehicles, in any park within the city except on the designated or established roadways or vehicle drives within said park unless said person is operating or controlling said vehicle pursuant to a valid authorization from the director of parks and recreation. For the purpose of this chapter, "motor vehicle" shall be any automobile, truck, motorcycle, moped, motorbike or any other vehicle which travels on wheels or tracks and is driven by an engine or motor, excluding motorized ADA compliant wheel chairs or other similar ADA complaint vehicles that allow accessibility for handicapped individuals. If the parks director or the director's designee grants such authorization, he may impose any restriction deemed necessary to protect the condition of the park or playfield or to protect the public safety.
