A. Purpose: The City has identified deficiencies committed by certain contractors and developers working on public works projects within the Municipal limits of the City and wishes to assure compliance with all Federal, State and Municipal ordinances, codes and regulations and hereby adopts performance bond assessment to assure compliance and avoid deficiencies on Municipal construction projects.
B. Objective: The City wishes to assure compliance with all regulations relating to construction projects within the Municipal limits. The Mayor and the City Council hereby provide that a developer and/or contractor be required to post sufficient surety to assure compliance with all State and Municipal standards relating to construction on the public work projects. In the event such surety is not posted, this Chapter authorizes the Public Works Director to withhold a certificate of occupancy until such compliance is maintained. (Ord. 345, 9-14-1993)
