6-2-5: TRUCK PARKING:
No trucks, as defined in this chapter, or trailers detached from the tractor, shall park along public rights of way or on private property within the city limits, except in conformance with this section.
   A.   Trucks cannot be parked in a manner which obstructs the view of an intersection. A distance of at least one hundred thirty feet (130') must be clear of obstructions measured from the center of the intersection.
   B.   Truck parking on the shoulder area of the public right of way is restricted to those streets that have been designated as allowing truck parking by signage stating that truck parking is allowed. No truck may be parked in an authorized parking area along public right of way for more than forty eight (48) consecutive hours.
   C.   Truck trailers may be allowed to be parked in designated parking areas along public right of way so long as the trailer is parked in accordance with the "truck trailer drop detail" adopted by the city council by resolution and the parking of the trailer does not violate any other city code or state law.
   D.   Not more than one tractor trailer, whether attached or detached, may be parked on a residential lot in a residentially zoned district. The parked vehicle must:
      1.   Be completely off the public right of way and entirely on private property;
      2.   Not obstruct sight distance on corners or block sidewalk or other public rights of way or easements;
      3.   Be unladen; and
      4.   Not be in violation of any other city code or state law. (Ord. 500, 7-14-2009)
