8-4-2-10: ADDITIONAL PRETREATMENT MEASURES:
   A.   Whenever deemed necessary to protect the POTW from interference, pass-through, slug load, or other potentially harmful effects, the Public Works Director may require industrial users to restrict their discharge during peak flow periods, designate that certain wastewater be discharged only into specific sewers, relocate and/or consolidate points of discharge, separate sewage waste streams from industrial waste streams and such other conditions as may be necessary to protect the POTW and determine the user's compliance with the requirements of this Chapter.
   B.   The industrial user shall provide grease, oil, or sand interceptors when the POTW has notified the industrial user that such interceptors are necessary to protect the POTW from interference, pass-through, slug load, or other potentially harmful effects of excessive discharges of grease, oil or sand, except that such interceptors are not required of domestic sources. All interceptors shall be of a type and capacity approved by the City and shall be so located to be easily accessible for cleaning and inspection. Such interceptors shall be inspected, cleaned, and repaired regularly, as needed to protect the POTW, by the industrial user at its expense.
   C.   Industrial users with the potential to discharge flammable substances may be required to install and maintain an approved combustible gas detection meter. (Ord. 353, 6-21-1994; amd. Ord. 582, 10-9-2019)
