§ 51.06 SAME; PENALTIES FOR LATE PAYMENT.
   (A)   Service will be disconnected for all unpaid bills on the twenty-sixth of each month. If the twenty-sixth falls on a weekend or holiday, disconnection will occur on the next business day. Payment must be received by 5:00 p.m. on the twenty-fifth of each month to avoid disconnection. A reconnection fee will be assessed, even if service is not interrupted, if payment is not received by 5:00 p.m. on the prescribed date. The town will set annual reconnection fees, which are to be posted on the town website and in the fees, rates and charges schedule adopted annually by the Board of Commissioners.
   (B)   Illegally reconnecting water service after it has been turned off for nonpayment of a bill will be punishable by a fine of $250. This fee will be assessed irrelevant as to whether a customer has paid the outstanding bill in full. Only the town’s utility department is authorized to restore disconnected water.
   (C)   Illegally connecting to a fire hydrant will be punishable by a fine of $500.
   (D)   In addition to the above penalties, when the water has been turned off for nonpayment, the Town Coordinator may require the owner of rental homes to put the water in their name and post a deposit of up to $250. The town reserves the right to refuse service to any home when the owner still owes a past due water bill.
   (E)   All customers can only have three extension agreements per calendar year.
