§ 2. CORPORATE BOUNDARIES.
   The boundaries and corporate limits of the town shall be as follows:
   “Beginning at an iron stake situated 230 feet west of the center line of Cox Road on the northerly right-of-way line of the Southern Railway, and runs thence with the northerly right-of-way of Southern Railway in an easterly direction with a curve to the right for a distance of 3,975 feet, more or less, to a point situate in the northerly right-of-way line of the Southern Railway, said point being situate east 201 feet from the extended center line of Walnut Avenue and west 2,460 feet, more or less, from the center line of Lineberger Road; thence a line running north 24 degrees 30 minutes east 1301.2 feet, more or less to a point situate 1,000 feet north of the center line of P. & N. Railway; thence north 72 degrees 55-1/2 minutes west 1900 feet to an iron pin situate 1,000 feet north of the center lines of P. Sc. N. Railway; thence north 18 degrees 46-1/2 minutes east 5,231.9 feet to an iron stake situate 200 feet east of the center line of Spencer Mountain Road; thence north 88 degrees 27 minutes West 5,990.07 feet to an iron pin in the center line of Burton Branch; thence south five (5) degrees 54 minutes west 554.75 feet to an iron pin; thence south 30 degrees six (6) minutes east 192.51 feet to an iron pin; thence south 15 degrees two (2) minutes west 413.54 feet to an iron pin; thence south 0 degrees 46 minutes west 455.84 feet to an iron pin; thence south 0 degrees 17 minutes west 874.43 feet to an iron pin; thence south 25 degrees 35 minutes east 231.07 feet to an iron pin; thence south 27 degrees 25 minutes east 623.65 feet to an iron pin; thence south 35 degrees 56 minutes east 407.19 feet to an iron pin; thence south seven (7) degrees nine (9) minutes west 321.11 feet to an iron pin; thence south 36 degrees west 354.08 feet to an iron pin; thence south 63 degrees four (4) minutes west 124.90 feet to an iron pin; thence north 89 degrees 17 minutes west 119.29 feet to an iron pin; thence south 30 degrees 19 minutes west 261.29 feet to an iron pin; thence south five (5) degrees 34 minutes west 290.09 feet to an iron pin; thence north 22 degrees nine (9) minutes east 22.99 feet to an iron pin; thence south 89 degrees one (1) minute east 921.38 feet to an iron pin; thence south five (5) degrees 26 minutes east 1,068.69 feet to an iron pin; thence south 12 degrees 12 minutes east 169.2 feet to an iron pin; thence south 11 degrees 16 minutes east 83.8 feet to an iron pin; thence south 89 degrees 19 minutes east 392.13 feet to an iron pin; thence south 89 degrees 21 minutes east 255.98 feet to a railroad spike; thence south 14 degrees 47 minutes west 466.38 feet to an iron stake situate 230 feet west of the center line of Cox Road on the northerly right-of-way line of the Southern Railway, the point of beginning.”
   In addition to the corporate limits of the Town of Ranlo, in Gaston County, as now constituted, the corporate limits of the said town are hereby extended and enlarged to include the following:
   Tract 1. Beginning at an existing fence corner, said fence corner being the southwest corner of property of James Widner described in that certain deed recorded in Deed Book 1288 at Page 348 in the office of the Register of Deeds for Gaston County and runs thence from said point 0 - beginning north 51 degrees 47 minutes 19 seconds west 777.85 feet along the eastern margin of property of George Hardy (Deed Book 980 - page 397) to a new iron pin, northeast corner of George Hardy; thence a new line north 64 degrees 14 minutes 37 seconds east 682.21 feet to a new iron pin; thence south 83 degrees 34 minutes 27 seconds east 865.45 feet to a new iron pin in the western margin of the South Fork Catawba River; thence south 33 degrees 13 minutes east 710 feet along the western edge of the South Fork Catawba River to an existing iron pin, southeast corner of property of James Widner (Deed Book 1288 at Page 344); thence north 83 degrees 34 minutes 27 seconds west 874.94 feet along the northern margin of property of M. Phillip Petty (Deed Book 930 at Page 242) to a poplar tree; thence continuing along the northern margin of the property M. Phillip Petty south 64 degrees 14 minutes west 424.98 feet to the point of BEGINNING, containing 19.805 acres.

   Tract 2. Beginning at an iron pin located at the easternmost terminus of the Leroy Avenue, said iron pin also being the southeastern corner of Lot No. 8, Block D, as shown on Plat recorded in Plat Book 15 at Page 93 in the office of the Register of Deeds for Gaston County, North Carolina; running thence North 03 degrees 23 minutes 59 seconds East 919.87 feet to an iron pin located in the center line of a branch; running thence with the center line of said branch as it meanders, the following courses and distances:
   1.   North 72 degrees 09 minutes 53 seconds East 20.72 feet;
   2.   South 86 degrees 29 minutes 46 seconds East 45.02 feet;
   3.   North 48 degrees 50 minutes 15 seconds East 102.70 feet;
   4.   North 20 degrees 14 minutes 51 seconds East 129.74 feet to a point where said branch converges with another branch, said point also being located within the right-of-way of a Duke Power Company transmission line; running thence in a generally southerly direction with the meanders of said other branch the following courses and distances:
   1.   South 23 degrees 45 minutes 58 seconds East 38.70 feet to a point;
   2.   South 59 degrees 12 minutes 25 seconds East 59.06 feet;
   3.   South 16 degrees 22 minutes 01 seconds East 67.05 feet;
   4.   South 05 degrees 04 minutes 35 seconds West 48.23 feet;
   5.   South 22 degrees 28 minutes 12 seconds East 56.51 feet;
   6.   South 43 degrees 29 minutes 29 seconds East 47.32 feet;
   7.   South 34 degrees 58 minutes 27 seconds East 61.20 feet;
   8.   South 68 degrees 03 minutes 50 seconds East 42.48 feet;
   9.   South 02 degrees 39 minutes 10 seconds East 53.20 feet;
   10.   South 02 degrees 39 minutes 10 seconds East 26.51 feet;

   16.   South 32 degrees 24 minutes 16 seconds East 326 feet to a point at the convergence of two branches; thence South 17 degrees 46 minutes 39 seconds West 157.24 feet to a point in the center line of a branch; thence North 88 degrees 16 minutes 57 seconds West 241.08 feet to an existing iron located in the northern line of Spindle City Rentals, Inc. as shown in Deed Book 1104 at Page 403 in the Gaston County Registry; thence with the northern line of Robert Thomas as shown in Deed Book 1082 at Page 183 and Deed Book 1324 at Page 400 in the Gaston County Registry South 89 degrees 56 minutes 27 seconds West 572.03 feet to the point and place of beginning.
   The same being a 15.282 acre tract to be annexed to the Town of Ranlo as shown on a survey prepared by Robinson & Sawyer, Inc. dated June 8, 1988 and revised September 12, 1988 to which reference is hereby made.
