(A) General. Except as otherwise provided in division (B) below, it shall be unlawful to operate a vehicle in excess of 35 mph inside the town corporate limits.

(B) Exceptions.
(1) It shall be unlawful to operate a vehicle in excess of the speeds listed below upon the streets or portions of streets of the state highway system listed below:
(a) Twenty mph: (reserved);
(b) Twenty-five mph:
1. Spencer Avenue;
2. Central Avenue; and
3. SR 2332 (Mitchem Road).
(c) Thirty mph: (reserved);
(d) Forty mph: (reserved);
(e) Forty-five mph: N.C. Highway #7;
(f) Fifty mph: (reserved); and
(g) Fifty-five mph: (reserved).
(2) It shall be unlawful to operate a vehicle in excess of the speeds listed below upon the streets or portions of streets, not a part of the state highway system, listed in each designated division, hereby made a part hereof:
(a) Fifteen mph:

(d) Thirty-five mph: Lowell Road (N.C. 7) from the eastern corporate limit approximately 1,550 feet east of Church Street (SR 2230) to the western corporate limit approximately 250 feet west of SR 2200;
(e) Forty mph: (reserved);
(f) Thirty-five mph: Lowell Road (N.C. 7) from the eastern corporate limit approximately 1,550 feet east of Church Street (SR 2230) to the western corporate limit approximately 250 feet west of SR 2200;
(g) Fifty mph: (reserved); and
(h) Fifty-five mph: (reserved).
