An approved backflow prevention device shall be installed on each service line to a customer’s water supply system serving the following types of facilities:
Beauty salons, barbershops, massage parlors, and health clubs |
Car washes and automobile servicing facilities |
Chemical and petroleum processing or storage of plants |
Chemical plants |
Food or beverage processing plants |
Hospitals, mortuaries, dental clinics, nursing and convalescent homes, and medical buildings |
Laundries and dry cleaners |
Lawn irrigation systems and swimming pools |
Metal degreasing, plating industries, machine tool plants, and dye and metal processing or productions |
Multi-storied buildings greater than three stories in height |
Other commercial or industrial facilities which may constitute potential cross-connection |
Packing houses |
Power plants |
Premises having radioactive materials, such as laboratories, industries, and hospitals |
Premises having water recirculating systems as used for boilers or cooling systems |
Rendering plants |
Schools, universities, and colleges |
Sewage treatment plants, sewage pumping stations, or stormwater pumping stations |
Testing laboratories, film laboratories, and film development facilities |
Veterinary establishments, kennels, feed yards, stables, rodeo grounds, stockyards, and pet grooming salons |
