Any taxicab driver’s license issued hereunder may be renewed from year to year provided the driver continues to meet the minimum qualifications of taxicab drivers established hereunder and pays the required fee. A request for renewal shall be filed with the Chief of Police, or his or her designate, prior to renewing any taxicab driver’s license. The request shall be denied unless the Chief of Police, or his or her designate, approves the renewal after reviewing whether the driver continues to meet the minimum qualifications of taxicab drivers established hereunder.
