Every motorboat of Classes 1, 2 and 3 shall be equipped with an efficient whistle or other sound-producing mechanical appliance of the following types.
(A) Class 1 shall be equipped with a mouth, hand or power operated appliance capable of producing a blast of two seconds or more duration and audible for a distance of at least one-half mile.
(B) Class 2 shall be equipped with a hand or power operated appliance capable of producing a blast of two seconds or more duration and audible for a distance of at least one mile.
(C) Class 3 shall be equipped with a power-operated appliance capable of producing a blast of two seconds or more duration and audible for a distance of at least one mile.
