The Director of Public Works, after consultation with the City Council members of the ward impacted, may limit the weight of vehicles permitted on an alley by erecting signs that advise users of the alley of the weight limitations. The signs shall be posted at all entrances to the alley from a public street. Once the signs are erected, it shall be unlawful to operate a vehicle in excess of the weight limit on the alley.
