(A) The Code Enforcement Officer is hereby authorized to make inspections for violations of this chapter in the normal course of his or her job duties, or in response to a citizen complaint that an alleged violation of the provisions of this chapter may exist, or when there is a reason to believe that a violation of this chapter has been or is being committed.
(B) In order to determine compliance with this chapter, private property may be entered with the consent of the owner or occupant or as authorized by a court of competent jurisdiction.
(C) If the owner of the short-term rental has provided contact information to the town and if the town issues a citation for a violation of the town’s applicable codes or a state law that occurred on the owner’s short-term rental property, the town shall make a reasonable attempt to notify the owner or owner’s designee of the citation within seven business days after the citation is issued using the contact information provided to the town. If the owner of a short-term rental has not provided contact information, the town is not required to provide such notice.
