(A) Creation; membership. A Town Planning Commission is hereby created for the town. It shall consist of five appointive members, all of whom shall be residents of the town, and shall have the Chairperson of the Town Board of Trustees and the Town Engineer, if any, as ex officio members. Trustees of the town shall be eligible to serve on the Planning Commission concurrently with their terms as Trustees.
(B) Appointment; terms. The appointive members shall be nominated by the Mayor and appointed by the Board of Trustees, and shall serve for terms of three years. Of the original appointive members, one shall serve for a term of one year, two shall serve for a term of two years and two shall serve for a term of three years.
(C) Vacancies and removals.
(1) Vacancies shall be filled for the unexpired terms.
(2) The Town Board of Trustees may remove members of the Town Planning Commission for cause.
(D) Compensation. The members shall serve without compensation.
