§ 33.022 CREATION OF OFFICERS; OFFICER REQUIREMENTS.
   (A)   Electing officers.
      (1)   The following shall be elected by secret ballot from the membership of the Department by the membership of the Department:
         (a)   Fire Chief;
         (b)   Assistant Chief;
         (c)   Three Company Officers (Captains); and
         (d)   Secretary-Treasurer.
      (2)   Only one firefighter can hold one officer position.
      (3)   Said officers shall be elected by a majority vote of the members at the first regular meeting in May every two years. Officers will be installed at the first meeting in June.
   (B)   Officer requirements. The following are requirements for election for an officer.
      (1)   The Fire Chief shall be required to have been a member of the Department for a minimum of five years and be Firefighter 1 certified.
      (2)   The Assistant Chief shall be required to have been a member of the Department for at least five years and be Firefighter 1 certified.
      (3)   A Company Officer (Captain) must have been a member for at least three years and be Firefighter 1 certified.
      (4)   The Secretary-Treasurer shall be elected by members of the Fire Department.
      (5)   All officers must have knowledge of the firefighter reporting system.
      (6)   The Training Officer shall have Firefighter 1 certification and, in addition, meet one of the following:
         (a)   Instructor Level 1 and at least five years in the Department; or
         (b)   Instructor Level 2 and at least three years in the Department.
