§ 72.04 TURNING AND SIGNALING.
   (A)   Required position for turning at an intersection. The driver of a vehicle intending to turn at an intersection shall do so as follows.
      (1)   Right turns. Both the approach for a right turn and a right turn shall be made as close as practicable to the right-hand curb or edge of the roadway.
      (2)   Left turns on two-way roadways. At any intersection where traffic is permitted to move in both directions on each roadway entering the intersection, an approach for a left turn shall be made in that portion of the right half of the roadway nearest the centerline thereof and by passing to the right of such centerline where it enters the intersection, and after entering the intersection, the left turn shall be made so as to leave the intersection to the right of the centerline of the roadway being entered. Whenever practicable, the left turn shall be made in that portion of the intersection to the left of the center of the intersection.
   (B)   Vehicle turning left. The driver of a vehicle within an intersection intending to turn left shall yield the right-of-way to any vehicle approaching from the opposite direction which is within the intersection or so close thereto so as to constitute an immediate hazard. The driver, having so yielded and having given a signal when and as required by this chapter, may make such left turn, and the drivers of all other vehicles approaching the intersection from such opposite direction shall yield the right-of-way to the vehicle making the left turn.
   (C)   Prohibited turns and U-turns.
      (1)   The Board of Trustees may determine those intersections at which drivers of vehicles shall not make a right, left or U-turn, and shall place proper signs at such intersections. The making of such turns may be prohibited between certain hours of any day and permitted at other hours, in which event, the same shall be plainly indicated on the signs, which may be removed when such turns are permitted.
      (2)   Whenever authorized signs are erected indicating that no right, left or U-turn is permitted, no driver of a vehicle shall disobey the direction of any such sign.
   (D)   Turning and stopping signals required.
      (1)   No person shall turn a vehicle to the right or left except upon giving a signal of intention as provided in this division (D) in the event that any other traffic may be affected by such movement.
      (2)   A signal of intention to turn right or left, when required, shall be given continuously during not less than the last 100 feet traveled by the vehicle before turning.
      (3)   When there is an opportunity to give such signal, no person shall stop or suddenly decrease the speed of a vehicle except upon the giving of a signal of intention as provided herein to the driver of any vehicle immediately to the rear.
