(A) No person may import to, or export weeks unless the dog is transported from, the state for the purpose of sale any dog under the age of eight weeks with its dam.

(B) (1) Unless the mother animal is unable to care for her baby, no underage animal may be offered for sale, trade or for other compensation or for free giveaway.
(2) The definition of underage depends upon the species. For example:
(a) A puppy or kitten that is under the age of eight weeks;
(b) A bird less than three weeks of age; or
(c) A rabbit less than two months of age.
(C) This does not apply to commercial breeders, distributors or shelters whose facilities are adequately equipped for the care of young animals.
