235.01 ESTABLISHMENT OF POSITION OF VILLAGE FISCAL OFFICER.
   (a)   In accordance with Ohio R.C. 733.262, there is hereby created the position of the Village Fiscal Officer to replace the position of the Village Clerk-Treasurer. The creation of the position shall be effective on the effective date of this chapter.
   (b)   The Village Fiscal Officer shall be appointed by the Mayor, but that appointment does not become effective until it is approved by a majority vote of the Village legislative authority. The Village Fiscal Officer need not be an elector of the Village or reside in the Village.
   (c)   The Fiscal Officer may be removed without cause either by the Mayor with the consent of a majority of the members of Council, or by a three-fourths vote of Council with or without the consent of the Mayor.
   (d)   The Fiscal Officer shall be paid a salary set by Council from time to time. Such pay shall be divided into equal amounts and paid at the same time as the regular payroll for Village employees. The Fiscal Officer shall be entitled to participate in the Public Employees Retirement System on the same basis as other elected Village officials. The Fiscal Officer shall be covered by Worker's Compensation and shall receive medical and hospitalization benefits in the same manner as other Village employees.
   (e)   The amount of the Bond of the Fiscal Officer shall be twenty thousand dollars ($20,000).
