The Solicitor shall have the authority to appoint an Assistant Solicitor and/or to retain special counsel for the Village whenever he or she determines that such appointment and/or retention is necessary in order to properly represent and protect the legal interests of the Village. All such appointments and/or retentions shall be subject to confirmation by Council and shall be made upon such terms and conditions as Council shall authorize.
