231.01 ESTABLISHMENT OF POSITION; ABOLISHMENT OF BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF PUBLIC AFFAIRS.
   (a)   There is hereby established in and for the Village the position of Village Administrator. The Village Administrator shall have those powers and duties provided by Ohio R.C. 735.273 and such additional duties as may be directed by Council.
   (b)   The Village Administrator will be appointed by the Mayor, but shall not take office until his or her appointment has been approved by a majority vote of Council. The Village Administrator need not be an elector of or reside in the Village and shall not be an elected official of the Village at the time of his or her appointment or during her or his tenure in office.
   (c)   The Village Administrator shall serve at the pleasure of the Mayor and Council and may be removed without cause by the Mayor with the consent of a majority of the Council. He or she may be removed without cause by an affirmative vote of three-fourths of the members elected to Council, without the consent of the Mayor.
   (d)   Upon the establishment of the position of Village Administrator, his or her appointment by the Mayor and confirmation by Council, the Board of Trustees of Public Affairs shall be abolished and the terms of office of members of the Board shall terminate. All conditions of Ohio R.C. 735.272 shall apply.
