(a) Each user shall acquire a sewer tap-in permit from the Village prior to tapping the system. The permit fee shall be twenty-five dollars ($25.00), plus an inspection fee of twenty-five dollars ($25.00). The user's tap-in fee will also include an assessment fee per the schedule set forth in division (b) of this section. The user is responsible for construction costs to tap into the sewer. Any person installing a new or replacing an old tap-in without a permit shall be subject to the penalty provided in Section 1046.99. Written plans for sewer tap-ins shall accompany the user's tap-in permit application.
(b) Fees for new building connections to the Village sewers shall be in accordance with the following:
(1) All units assessed for the original sanitary improvements: N/A.
(2) All fees shall be based on the approved unit equivalents set forth in Section 1046.04.
(3) The base charge shall be one thousand sixty-five dollars ($1,065.00) per unit. (One unit equals 400 gpd or a single-family residence equivalent.)
(4) An exception to this charge shall be Department of Interior improvements, which shall be charged in accordance with the approved contractual agreement.
(c) Any unit with waste flows (based on water consumption) in excess of a single-family residence (400 gpd) shall be subject to a tap-in fee developed in consideration of its wastewater flow as compared to a single-family residence.
(d) Tap-in fees will not be charged for the replacement or repair of existing taps to the sewer system. All tap-in fees collected will be applied to operation and maintenance costs as required. Tap-in fees will be reviewed annually and adjusted to compensate for inflation of costs.
