(a) Taps on all water mains owned and operated by the Village shall be installed by the Utilities Department or their authorized agent. Cost of taps and service connections installed by the Utilities Department shall be as follows:

(b) Charges for taps larger than two inches will be based on the cost per square inch surface area of a two-inch tap. A two-inch tap has a surface area of 3.14 square inches. This square-inch cost will be used as a multiplier on larger size taps.
(c) The Utilities Department shall include the service connection, service line to the curb stop, water meter and water meter vault. The property owner is responsible for excavation, service line from the curb stop and installation of meter.
(d) Taps and services on new main installations. All taps and services on new, contractor-installed water mains shall be the responsibility of the contractor to install. Once installed, the Utilities Department will set the meter vault, meter and remote reader. Regulations on installation-associated costs shall be as stated above.
