DECISION-MAKING BODY: The entity that is granted authority to make a final decision on a matter, pursuant to the procedures of chapter 15 of this title.
DEDICATION: The deliberate appropriation of land by an owner for general and public use reserving to the landowner no rights that are incompatible with the full exercise and enjoyment of the public use to which the property has been devoted.
DESIGNATED RESIDENTIAL DEVELOPMENT AREA: An area specifically designated for residential development by conditions imposed in a PUD or PD District.
DEVELOPER: Any person, firm, partnership, corporation or entity, acting as a unit, subdividing or proposing to subdivide land.
DEVELOPMENT: Any man-made change to improved or unimproved real estate, including but not limited to, buildings or other structures, mining, dredging, filling, grading, paving, excavation, or drilling operations.
DEVELOPMENT PLAN: See section 10-15-7 of this title.
DIAMETER AT BREAST HEIGHT (dbh): The diameter of a tree trunk measured at a point 4.5 feet above ground level at the base of the tree.
DRIPLINE: The periphery of the area underneath a tree that would be encompassed by perpendicular lines extending from the exterior edges of the crown of the tree.
DWELLING UNIT: A room or group of rooms arranged, intended, or designed as a habitable unit, containing kitchen, bath and sleeping facilities, for not more than one household living independently of any other household. (Ord. 2018-16, 12-4-2018)
