9-3-6: PERMIT REQUIREMENTS:
   A.   Permit Required: It is unlawful for any person to install any electrical wiring, fixtures or apparatus in or on any building or structure or make extensions to any existing electrical installations in the City limits of this City without first securing a permit from the Building Official.
   B.   Application: Applications for electrical permits shall be made to the City Clerk. The applicant shall provide such plans, specifications and other data as may be reasonably required.
   C.   Fee: The fee for an electrical permit shall be as prescribed by motion or resolution passed by the City Council. (Refer to Appendix A following this Code.)
   D.   Commencement Of Work; Time Limit: If any work authorized by a permit is not commenced within thirty (30) days after the date thereon, such permit shall thereupon and thereafter be void. In such case, before such work is commenced, a new permit shall be paid as is specified herein for the first time. Any work once started shall not be suspended except for some unavoidable cause, and in such case a statement of the facts shall be made in writing, giving the date the work is to again begin and such statement shall be filed in the office of the Inspector.
   E.   Inspections:
      1.   Required: The Inspector shall make inspections of all work for which a permit has been obtained within twenty four (24) hours after having been notified that the work is ready for inspection (Sundays and holidays excluded). In making inspections of new work "roughed in", he shall leave a tag in the cabinet clearly stating whether the work has been approved, and is ready to conceal, or that work is not standard and must not be covered until approved by the Inspector.       2.   Fee: The City Council, by motion or resolution, shall establish inspection fees to be paid to the City when electrical installations are inspected by the Electrical Inspector. (Refer to Appendix A following this Code.) (1988 Code § 3-507)
