A. Position Created; Authorization: There is created the position of animal control officer, which shall be filled by appointment of the mayor with the concurrence of the city council. The qualifications for holding of such position and the remuneration thereof shall be as fixed by the city council from time to time. The appointee to such office shall serve at the pleasure of the mayor. Upon his appointment, the animal control officer shall have jurisdiction in the enforcement of all ordinances affecting dogs and animals within the city. The animal control officer is specifically authorized to initiate the issuance of misdemeanor citations for violations of any city animal control regulation.
B. Interference With Prohibited: It is unlawful for any individual to interfere in any manner with the animal control officer while said officer is carrying out his duties as prescribed by this chapter. (Ord. 563, 4-21-2014)
