8-7-4: SEWER SYSTEM CONSTRUCTION STANDARDS:
   A.   Specifications For Sewer System Construction:
      1.   All sewer systems, or part thereof, constructed and installed within the city, shall be constructed and installed in compliance with the ISPWC as adopted by the city council in section 8-7-2 of this chapter.
      2.   Prior to installation, all sewer system construction plans shall be reviewed and approved by the Idaho department of environmental quality.
      3.   All materials used in the construction of a sewer system shall be inspected and approved by the public works inspector prior to installation and shall be installed in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions.
      4.   All parts of a constructed and installed sewer system shall be inspected and approved by the public works inspector and/or the engineer's inspector prior to backfilling.
      5.   Strict compliance with all federal and state safety rules, regulations and standards regarding trenching, traffic control and work zone safety shall be enforced by the public works inspector. Failure to comply with the provisions of this subsection shall result in work stoppage.
   B.   Prohibited Acts:
      1.   Unauthorized Connections: It is unlawful to connect to, or cause to be connected to, the city sewer system, or any other sewer system, or part thereof, without the approval of the city.
      2.   Tampering: It is unlawful for any person to tamper with, or cause to be tampered with, the city sewer system, or any part thereof.
   C.   Violations: A violation of this section shall be a misdemeanor. In addition, violators shall pay all costs incurred by the city for all remedial actions taken by the city to repair damages caused by a violation of this section. (Ord. 482, 6-5-2006)
