8-6-5: PROHIBITED ACTS AND CONDITIONS:
   A.   Tampering: It is unlawful for any person or company to cause to be disconnected, circumvented, readjusted or otherwise tampered with any backflow prevention device, except for a person approved by the administrator for testing and repairing such devices. A violation of this subsection shall be a misdemeanor. In addition, a violator shall pay all costs incurred by the city for remediation of damages caused by a violation of this section.
   B.   Failure To Comply: For failure to comply with the terms of this chapter, or any part thereof, the city shall have the right, in order to protect the health and safety of the public, to take all actions necessary, including prosecution of violations of this chapter and discontinuation of water service to any customer. Such discontinuation shall continue until such time as the administrator finds the customer in compliance with this chapter. Any and all costs incurred by the city in obtaining customer compliance shall be the responsibility of the customer and shall be reimbursed by the customer to the city before compliance is certified and water service is restored.
