8-5-2: CONNECTION TO SEWER SYSTEM REQUIRED:
Owners of all houses, buildings or properties used for human occupancy, employment, recreation or other purposes located within the jurisdiction of the city and abutting any street, alleyway or city right of way in which there is located a public sanitary sewer of the city sewer system, are required at their expense to install suitable toilet facilities therein, and to connect such facilities directly with the city sewer within ninety (90) days after official notice by the city to do so, provided that such public sewer is within three hundred feet (300') of the closest property line. Where sewer connections are made as provided herein, septic tanks, cesspools and drywells and all other private sewage disposal systems shall be physically bypassed and permanently disconnected from sewer lines and their use permanently abandoned. Such facilities shall be filled and compacted. A violation of this section shall be a misdemeanor. (Ord. 482, 6-5-2006)
