7-2-2: TREE AND SHRUB MAINTENANCE:
   A.   Requirements:
      1.   Any owner or occupant of any real property shall maintain all hedges and shrubbery adjacent to public sidewalks so that no part of such hedges and shrubbery shall extend over any part of a public sidewalk.
      2.   Any owner or occupant of any real property within the city shall remove from his property any structure, hedge, shrubbery, fence, wall, tree limbs or other sight obstruction of any nature, except public traffic signs, buildings and trees, where the sight obstructions constitute a potential traffic hazard. The above sight obstructions shall not extend more than three feet (3') nor less than ten feet (10') in height above the existing centerline roadway elevation within the vision triangle of vehicle operators. The boundaries of the vision triangle are defined by measuring from the intersection of the edges of the two (2) adjacent roadways forty feet (40') along each roadway and connecting the two (2) points with a straight line. The bushes, shrubs, plants and structures in the area of a corner lot that extends thirty feet (30') back in both directions from the point of the intersection along the gutter line must not be more than thirty inches (30") tall and cannot obstruct clear vision.
   B.   Violations: Violations of any of the provisions of this chapter or failure to comply with any of its requirements shall constitute a misdemeanor and upon conviction, subject to penalty as provided in section 1-4-1 of this code. Each day such violation continues shall be considered a separate offense. (Ord. 482, 6-5-2006)
