5-2-4: HUMAN POWERED VEHICLES:
   A.   Definition: A "human powered vehicle" is a skateboard, roller skates, in-line skates, scooters or other toy vehicle operated by human power excluding perambulators or wheelchairs or other like vehicles being operated by handicapped or infirm persons.
   B.   Riding On Public Property: Except to cross a sidewalk when entering or exiting an alleyway, a private drive or a crosswalk, and where signs are posted, it is unlawful to ride, operate or cause to be operated any human powered vehicle on the sidewalks of the city.
   C.   Vehicle Demonstrations: Nothing in this chapter shall prohibit the mayor and/or the city council from allowing bicycle, skateboard or other human powered vehicle exhibits or demonstrations at designated locations by obtaining a special event permit from the city. Security and porta potties are the responsibility of the permit holder. (Ord. 482, 6-5-2006)
