1.20.050: FINES, IMPRISONMENT OR WORK FOR CITY; COURT JUDGMENT ON CONVICTION:
In all judgments on conviction of any person of violation of any ordinance of this city or any provisions thereof, the court, in its discretion, may order that the defendant, in default of the fine and costs, be imprisoned in the city jail until such fine and costs are paid. The court, in its discretion, may order that the defendant be required to work for the corporation at such labor as his strength will permit, not exceeding eight (8) hours each working day, and for such work the person so imprisoned shall be allowed two dollars ($2.00) for each day's work on account of such fine and costs.
