12-2-9: CUL-DE-SACS AND DEAD END STREETS:
   A.   Maximum Length: The maximum length of a cul-de-sac shall be five hundred feet (500'), except where topography would prohibit the use of a standard distance.
   B.   Turnaround: Each cul-de-sac shall be provided with a turnaround having a minimum right of way radius of fifty feet (50').
   C.   Road Surface Width: The road surface within the cul-de-sac right of way shall have a minimum width of twenty eight feet (28').
   D.   Stub Streets: In the case of temporarily dead ended streets which are stub streets designed to provide future connection with adjoining unsubdivided areas, the planning commission may require:
      1.   Temporary easement for a turnaround having a radius of fifty feet (50'); or
      2.   An appropriate area for a backaround.
   E.   Storm Drainage: In all instances, proper provisions shall be made for adequate storm drainage so that storm water does not collect at the ends of these streets. (1990 Code § 12-418)
