169.18 HOURS OF WORK; OVERTIME.
   (EDITOR'S NOTE: Provisions relative to hours of work and overtime compensation are contained in the salary ordinances enacted by Council and no longer codified herein.)
   To comply with an amendment to Section 164 of the City Charter, voted upon by the electorate on May 2, 1972, the administrative officials in charge of the Fire Department of the City are hereby authorized and directed to divide the uniform forces into not less than three platoons. Each platoon shall be on duty for twenty-four consecutive hours, except in case of extraordinary emergencies. The Fire Chief, with the approval of the City Manager, shall arrange the work schedules so that each member of the platoons will work an average of fifty-six hours per week, excluding vacations and other time off as granted by law.
