169.03 SICK LEAVE.
   (a)   Employees of the City, other than temporary employees, part-time employees effective April 1, 2006 and elected officials, shall have their sick leave usage governed by appropriate sections of the Ohio Revised Code, Ohio Administrative Code and City Personnel Policies and Procedures incorporated by ordinance.
 
   (b)   Employees of the City who are eligible and draw sick leave pay for any illness or injury may not also draw Workers’ Compensation for the same illness or injury. Said employees are responsible for reimbursing the City for the amount of any sick leave pay drawn for any period for which Workers’ Compensation is received. The employee will be recredited the sick leave on a prorated basis corresponding to the sick leave payout.
 
   (c)   Employees, other than temporary employees and elected officials, who have accumulated sick leave with another political subdivision in the State may transfer their prior sick leave accumulation to the City. The employee is responsible for having the fiscal officer from the transferring entity certify the sick leave hours transferred to the Portsmouth City Auditor. The Portsmouth City Auditor shall notify the appropriate department head so that the employee may have the transferred sick hours added to their sick leave hours total.
